Last big reservation tonight

The restaurant Etxebarri is based on tradition and the grill. Multiple grills at different heights each designated for a different use and each burning a different charcoal that is actually made daily on the premises. All the Spanish chefs we told about this reservation told us it is absolutely incredible. We are obviously super hyped up over this one.

MAN DOWN!

Sometimes on these trips we spend so much time running from city to city and restaurant to restaurant we forget in fact that it is supposed to be a vacation. Today we decided to do just that. Nothing worse then coming home from a vacation more exhausted then when you left. Here are a few pics of the beach and San Sebastian.

World's smallest heavy metal bar

This place was AWESOME. I have never been in such a small bar. The bar itself was maybe 5 people wide and enough space for 10/15 people standing. Posters of Ozzy next to license plates from South Carolina. (made Mike Lata happy). Did I mention while Metallica and Slayer were being sung to, they were playing the Green Mile on the video screen. Obviously another great night.

Last night in the Gros and Parte Vieja districts

After such a mind blowing and game changing meal at Mugaritz, we decided to just wander around a bit and grab some bites here and there. We found one place that was doing really modern food. Microwave cakes, spherification, hibachi type grilling served with tubes of unidentifiable liquids. Some of it tasted good, some didn't. It doesn't matter, it's all an experience.

Best dessert of the year! 

Broken walnuts, toasted and salted, cool milk cream and Armagnac gelee. The perfect dessert. Completely balanced and delicious.
